Database of Zeolite Structures

Welcome to the Database of Zeolite Structures
fully revised 2017

This database provides structural information on all of the Zeolite Framework Types that have been approved by the Structure Commission of the International Zeolite Association (IZA-SC).

It is searchable and includes:
descriptions and drawings of each framework type
user-controlled animated displays of each framework type
crystallographic data and simulated powder diffraction patterns for representative materials
relevant references
detailed instructions for building models
measured powder patterns from "Verified Syntheses" (2nd and 3rd edition)
29Si MAS NMR spectra for pure silica and aluminosilicate zeolites
31P MAS NMR spectra for pure aluminophosphate zeolites
framework chemical composition for all materials in the database

A separate database, designed to describe disordered zeolite structures more appropriately, has been created and integrated into this one under the tab Intergrowths.

If you run into any difficulties with the database or have any suggestions for improvements, please contact Christian Baerlocher.

Database developments
20-Feb-24 The rings listed on the Framework Page have been replace by a list of Essential Rings, with their relative numbers in the framework.
Jan-24 A number of securtity updates were inplemented. This includes (a) measures that make it more difficult to hack the database, and (b) converting all remaining links to encrypted links (https), eliminating the potential risk to users of being (re-)directed to malicious servers.
June-23 Bernd Marler (Ruhr-University Bochum) joined the team maintaining the Database of (ordered) Zeolite Structures.
5-Jul-22 Darren Brouwer (Redeemer University) joined the team maintaining the Database of (ordered) Zeolite Structures.
24-Jun-22 Database of Disordered Zeolite Structures created (Christian Baerlocher, Lynne McCusker, Hermann Gies and Bernd Marler)
To access it, just click on the Intergrowths tab above.
30-Sept-20 Check topology tool added
Checks whether your structure has a new topology. For a known structure, it will list the corresponding topological T-positions.
31-Jul-20 31P MAS NMR spectra of more than 70 pure aluminophosphates added to the database (Darren Brouwer)
30-Mar-20 Framework chemical composition included for all materials in the database (Yi Li and Chuting Zheng)
28-Aug-19 29Si MAS NMR spectra of more than 30 aluminosilicate zeolites added to the database (Hubert Koller)
26-Jun-19 29Si MAS NMR spectra of more than 50 pure silica zeolites added to the database (Darren Brouwer)
11-Dec-17 Some of the measured powder patterns from the "Verified Syntheses" book (3rd edition) included in the database (Powder Pattern tab)
15-Aug-17 Database now fully functional on mobile devices
Origin of the names of the Reference Materials and derivation of 3-letter code added (Reference Material page)
Search for number of topologically distinct T-atoms added (on Channel System search page)
17-Mar-17 Fully revised version of the Database of Zeolite Structures launched
1-Oct-16 20 years of Zeolite Structures on the web (Learn more about the history of the database here)
